I need financial help. How do I apply?
Visit the APPLICATION page for instructions and application. Please call us if you have any questions or need assistance with the application. Be sure to complete the application thoroughly.

Once you have downloaded and filled out the application, you can fax, mail, or email the application.

How long does the application process take?
With a completed application, normal approval time is about 14 days.
What is the process in approving applicants?
All applicants must fill out an application that is valid for one year. Each applicant is interviewed to collect missing or additional information. Once the board approves the application, funds are disbursed directly to the medical provider.
Can I apply more than once?
If a you need more help within a year of an approved application, a new application form does not need to be filled out. You should contact HeartStone via email or phone to explain the additional need. The Board will review and rule on the new request. If more than a year has elapsed, a new application form must be filled out and submitted.
What community areas does HeartStone cover?
We accept applicants within a 75 mile radius of downtown Cincinnati, Ohio.
How did HeartStone get started?
In 2007, several people raised money to help a friend with breast cancer. After successfully helping her pay her medical bills, some of those people decided to continue helping people.
What makes the HeartStone Foundation unique?
Instead of specializing in one disease, we provide financial assistance to recipients with a variety of major medical conditions. Since 2007, have helped defray over $350,000 in medical expenses to treat various cancers, colon disease, macular degeneration, other medical conditions, and conditions arising from catastrophic accidents.
Does HeartStone do anything besides pay medical bills?
Yes, we sometimes help people obtain equipment needed for mobility issues that accompany serious disability. For instance, we have helped people purchase scooters, lifts, and ramps.

We accept donations and we hold various fundraising events. We have been fortunate to have received a grant from a generous donor but the need is great and we continue to look for ways to raise funds and welcome sponsors.

Are my contributions tax deductible?
The HeartStone Foundation is a 501(c)(3) public charity. Donations are tax deductible.
