Tour De Montgomery 2008 Fundraising

We are excited to introduce this year a new component to the Tour de Montgomery – Individual and Team Fundraising!

Now you can take your support for the HeartStone Foundation to the next level! Enjoy the satisfaction of knowing you are helping others even more, and get the added benefit of qualifying for our Individual and Team Fundraising Competition!

At the start of the Tour de Montgomery, on the morning of Saturday, July 19, all fundraisers will be recognized in a special awards presentation.

All fundraisers, whether part of a team or not, will receive Fundraiser Medals from the HeartStone Foundation for the Tour de Montgomery.

Prize levels are:

• $50-$99 = bronze medal
• $100-$149 = silver medal
• $150+ = gold medal.

Wear your medal with pride during the ride… your fellow cyclists will appreciate your extra support for the HeartStone Foundation!

Along with the general awards, everyone can also put their heart into the Individual and Team Fundraising Competition! Recognition certificates will be awarded to the Individuals and Teams that are second and third in total funds raised, and a special First Place Trophy will be awarded to each Individual and Team Category that raises the most money!

Certificates and First Place Trophies will be awarded to Individuals and Teams in the following categories:

• Top Individual Fundraisers
• Top Teams of 2-6 people
• Top Teams of 7-12 people
• Top Teams of 13 people or more

Note that for the Individual Category, the prizes will go to whichever individuals bring in the most fundraising, whether they are on a team or not. So if you are a powerhouse fundraiser, you could help your team win a prize in the Team Category, and also win a prize yourself for your Individual fundraising efforts!

Our Top 25 Individual and Team fundraisers also will be listed on the HeartStone Foundation website, after the ride is complete, to acknowledge the many wonderful contributions to the success of the HeartStone Foundation. These contributions truly are the bedrock of HeartStone's ability to reach out and support individuals during a time of need.

How you can become a HeartStone Foundation Fundraiser!

Individual Fundraisers:
If you are an Individual Fundraiser, all you need to do is check the "Individual Fundraiser" box on the primary Tour de Montgomery registration form. For bookkeeping purposes, we do need to require that the initial $50 donation is paid at the time of registration. (You can, of course, at your discretion, offset your initial payment with money that you fundraise after your registration.)

Team Fundraisers:
If you would like to fundraise as a Team, the first step is to select a Team Captain. Then, to create your team, your Team Captain just needs to register your team. The team registration includes providing a team name, contact information for the Team Captain, and some basic background information about your team (are you a club, a corporate group, a school group, etc.).

Once your team is registered (the HeartStone Foundation will send a confirmation email to the Team Captain), then as a team member, all you need to do is check the "Team Fundraiser" box on the primary Tour de Montgomery registration form , and write down the Team Name that your Team Captain has provided. For bookkeeping purposes, we do need to require that the initial $50 donation for each team member is paid at the time of registration. (Just as is the case for Individual Fundraisers, you can, at your discretion, offset your initial payment with money that you fundraise after your registration.)

ALL Fundraisers:

Once you are registered as an Individual or Team Fundraiser, then you are ready to go out and ask others to support the HeartStone Foundation! To make it easier to keep your donations organized, just download a Tour de Montgomery/HeartStone Foundation sponsor form!

After you have completed your fundraising, bring in the money you have collected for the HeartStone Foundation on the day of the ride, and we will tally up your Team and/or Individual Fundraising totals at that time! Please note that all fundraising must be turned in on the morning of the ride; it is not possible for us to include post-ride donations in your fundraising total.
